Sofa | Art Takes Over Admiral Boulevard

Saturday, September 21, 5:00-9:00pm
Admiral Boulevard just west of Lewis

Urban Furnishings and Kendall Whittier Main Street invite you to Sofa|Art — a fun, funky little art event in historic Whittier Square.

We’ve asked Tulsa artists to transform second-hand upholstered furniture into works of art! The night of the event, we’ll close Admiral Boulevard for a street festival and display more than a dozen artistically upcycled sofas. There will be food available from the Smoke. On cherry street food truck, a selection of beer and wine from Elote Cafe & Catering, and live music from Rebecca Ungerman.

If you fall in love with one of the entries… buy it! We’ll conduct a silent auction throughout the evening so guests can bid on the sofa art. Proceeds from each sale go to the respective artists.

Participating artists include Joseph Buchanan, Lanette C. Clark, Lisa Regan, Janet Davie, Cynthia Brown, Mary Jane Porter, Tulsa Girls Art School, FURN, Clary Sage College, Undercroft Montessori, the Tulsa Fire Department, The McIntosh Group LLC, and more.

A panel of judges will score all entries and award a $500 cash prize to the Best in Show. Judges include Kathy Taylor, candidate for Tulsa mayor; Myra Block Kaiser, art curator and consultant; Cindy Williams, manager of public programming for Gilcrease Museum; and Marjorie Atwood, fine artist headquartered in Kendall Whittier.

Admission is free. Join us for this unique, artistic event in the K-Dub on Saturday, September 21!
